I’ve been spending a lot of time reflecting on where I want to go next since I’ve graduated one week and some days ago. At the recommendation of a former professor, I’ll be reading Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor E. Frankl.
From what I can tell you so far, it’s a stream of consciousness and reflection about Frankl’s imprisonment in the concentration camps of the Holocaust. Frankl witnesses atrocities in visceral detail in a shifty, elided flow that makes the Man’s Search for Meaning a macabre memoir. However, there’s an upswing in that he takes the experiences and parlays it into the basis for his logotherapy. I’m hoping for some uplift about now.
